The hilarious new one man show “The Male Intellect an Oxy Moron” opened last night at the historic Larcom Theatre in Beverly Massachusetts. The show produced, written and performed by Robert Dubac takes the audience on a whirlwind journey into the male mindset. Exploring both the male’s right side of the brain which handles the emotional information & the left side of the brain that tries to problem solve but always gets lost on the way.
The show opens up with Robert on stage trying to understand why his fiancée decided to take a break from the relationship and informs him that she will take two weeks for her to decide if she is able to overcome some relationship differences. Throughout the show Robert keep’s trying to answer the age old question of “what do woman really want?” Throughout the entire performance you meet many chauvinists along the way including characters like The Colonel, Fast Eddie, Old Mr. Linger & Ronnie Cabrezzi Who all influence Robert’s way he perceives woman and relationships.
Both men and women will find something to chuckle at in this rumination of the differences in the sexes. The entire 90 minutes of the performance include nothing but laugh’s, chuckles and moments why you’ll look at your significant other and say “is that really what it means?” This show is something not to miss especially since it is that time of year known as valentine’s day. He gets into jokes that score with both sides and the laughter starts rolling. The Male Intellect accomplishes its twin goals, which are to entertain you a lot, and make you think a little is definitely a show not to miss.
