New Orleans legend, Henri Smith, has brought the spirit and soul of New Orleans to New England through his music since he moved to Gloucester, MA over 10 years ago -- after Hurricane Katrina destroyed his home. This summer, he has something very special for his North Shore fans: the debut of The New England NevilleBrothers (Charles Neville with his two sons: keyboardist Khalif and drummer Talyn) at a Summer Mardi Gras concert in Beverly, MA on Friday night August 19. The fully air-conditioned Vittori-Rocci Hall, fondly remembered by North Shore music fans for hosting summer dances for over 60 years, will host the hottest musical party of the summer featuring Grammy-Award winners Charles Neville (of the Neville Brothers) and Amadee Castenell (from HBO’s hit series Treme) with a nine-piece band led by vocalist Henri Smith and a special appearance by The New England Neville Brothers. As the late Allen Toussaint said, “Henri represents us very well everywhere … he does it with class and pizzazz and we love that!” On August 19th, Henri takes it to a new level by introducing the next generation of Neville Brothers to the North Shore for the very first time.
Reserved seats are $25 ($35 for the first 4 rows). There will be plenty of room for dancing with Henri Smith, Amadee Castenell, Charles Neville and the New England Neville Brothers during the traditional New Orleans Second line.
